DMT Written Exam & Practical Test Updates
Please be advised that all theory lectures and mock trial sessions are conducted at our Angunukolapelessa, Ambalantota, and Ranna branches every weekend. Students can also use our new Online Exam Q&A Portal to practice official DMT questions with instant answers in Sinhala before attending the government computerized exam.
National Transport Medical Institute (NTMI) Certificate Procedure
All new driving license applicants must obtain an official medical fitness certificate from the National Transport Medical Institute (NTMI) prior to sitting for the written examination. Our staff assists registered students with eChannelling medical appointments and paperwork verification.
What to Bring for Medical Test:
- Original National Identity Card (NIC) or valid Sri Lankan Passport
- Prescription spectacles / contact lenses if you wear corrective vision lenses
- Appointment confirmation slip or SMS reference number
Practical Driving Session Timetable & Vehicle Categories
Practical in-car and on-bike training sessions are scheduled from Tuesday to Sunday at our specialized training tracks in Angunukolapelessa, Ambalantota, and Ranna. Dual-controlled cars (Auto & Manual), 3-wheelers, and dual-purpose vans are fully serviced and sanitized for student safety.
Morning Session
8:30 AM to 12:30 PM (Hill start, Zig-zag maneuvering, parallel parking drills)
Afternoon Session
1:30 PM to 5:30 PM (Main highway driving, roundabouts, and night driving previews)
Final Practical Driving Trial Day Instructions
On your scheduled practical trial date at the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) testing grounds, please arrive at least 30 minutes early. Eightex MS Driving School instructors will accompany our students with the examination vehicles.
Mandatory Items for Practical Exam:
- Original National Identity Card (NIC)
- Temporary Learner Permit Card issued by DMT
- Eightex MS Driving School Student Training Card
- Appropriate clothing and closed footwear (sandals/slippers are strictly prohibited for trials)
