An International Driving Permit (IDP) is an official multi-language translation of your national Sri Lankan driving license, recognized under the United Nations Road Traffic Conventions. If you plan to travel, work abroad, or migrate to countries like the UK, UAE (Dubai), Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or European nations, an IDP allows you to legally rent and drive vehicles.

Original Sri Lankan Driving License: Must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application (both card and smart chip versions accepted).

The Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC) is the sole authorized issuing body for IDPs in Sri Lanka.
